๐ŸŽ‰ Run Your Heart Out Swag Bag ๐ŸŽ‰

Hey Friends! This week's blog post is near and dear to my heart. My good friend, Lauren, came to me about two years ago with the idea of starting a yearly running retreat for women only. The purpose of gathering a group of women together for one weekend a year was to provide empowerment, education, and self-care through daily yoga, nutritional meals, guided trail running, and keynote speakers. Of course, my response to this idea was, "Sure! Sign me up! I'll help ya. Sounds fun!"And as they say...the rest is history!

Fast Forward two years, and we added another team member/host, Nikeole Macy, and we have had TWO successful Run Your Heart Out (RYHO) Retreats in the mountains of Eastern NC! Plus, during this year of Covid, Lauren decided there was a need for continued support throughout the year and she created the "Running Wild Collective" which provides local guided runs, day retreats throughout the year, plus provides online community support with fellow members. The Collective is in many cities now and provides weekly socially distanced guided runs for its members. ๐Ÿ’ช โค๏ธ ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Lazy Creek Photography is the official photographer for the RYHO Retreat and we were so excited to capture this wonderful weekend for all the participants, but about a week before the retreat I went into preterm labor and unfortunately had to cancel my plans to attend the retreat this year. (Middle of the mountains + preterm labor spells a great plot for a movie! ๐Ÿ˜‚).

However, I received my swag bag and just LOVED it so much, so I decided to do a little swag bag shoot to share all the goodies with you guys!

Not pictured: the RYHO sweatshirt/t-shirt that each participant received and a recipe book featuring ALL the recipes that was made fresh on-site throughout the weekend. The produce was provided by us here at Lazy Creek Farm and many of the recipes featured are gluten-free and vegan!

Check out a few of the photos below and I'll provide links along the way! ๐Ÿ˜Š

All the goodies!

Check out candid photos from the RYHO Retreat this year on the official instagram page!

One of my favorite sponsors of the RYHO Retreat is the NuunLife Community! These Nuun tablets are environmental friendly, super convenient, and are great for getting your hydration, minerals, and vitamins in daily!

Check them out!

It's really fun to have a local race be a featured event at the RYHO Retreats, and this year, due to Covid the local race was cancelled, so Lauren decided to pick a really fun virtual race to be featured at the RYHO.

Hello, "Sassquad Trail Running Race"! We had a Loch Ness 5k and a Sassquad half marathon option, so fun! Check out the swag!

A new sponsor to the RYHO Retreat this year was Muir, a completely clean real food energy source that's great to use on and off the trail. Every athlete has their own routine for nutrition while training and on race day. For me, I love gels and liquids! I cannot digest any type of solid food while my body is in motion, so Muir was made for me! It has a great taste with no artificial ingredients.

Muir was created by an ultra distance hiker, too cool!

It was a new favorite for the participants this year at the retreat.

Check it out!

In addition to the recipe book, each participant got this blank notebook in their swag bag! I have it on my desk and use it daily for notes.

This hemp flower extract has already gotten rave reviews from the participants this year. There is no aftertaste and taste great!

Check out the local supplier!

Thanks for checking out the blog post this week!
